EA DICE, the developer of the legendary series, announced that they will continue to bring Battlefield 2042 updates despite the decreasing number of players and the ongoing disappointment in the community, and the developer announced that the Battlefield 2042 4.1 patch will be released on May 19.
Battlefield 2042 update content surprised
The update content has been shared by EA, but this information seems not to please Battlefield 2042 players. This update features a major change and a number of minor tweaks that could shock players. The developer announced that the game mode, which is liked and appealed to a large audience, will be removed from Battlefield 2042.
The developer announced that it has approved the removal of the 128-player Breakthrough mode from certain platforms only. It confirms that this mode has been removed from the All-Out Warfare playlist, but only for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S player ecosystem. EA made an additional statement as “the 128-player mode is more suitable for Conquest,” according to DICE. The developer argues that the 64-player version of Breakthrough is more tactical. There was no explanation as to whether this removal was related to the decrease in the number of players.

A removal that will only affect certain platforms
To sum it up briefly, not all 128-player game mods in Battlefield 2042 have been removed or the 128-player Breakthrough has been canceled from all platforms, only certain platforms no longer have this game. The Conquest 128 player mode is still active on all platforms and players will continue to play there, while PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will also continue to play the 128-player Breakthrough with the cross-play system. Although EA DICE attributes this removal to gameplay reasons, the biggest factor here is estimated to be the reduced number of players on PC and next-generation consoles.
Not only that, but three other important changes were made. First, the damage to Boris’ SG-36 Turret was reduced. Second, Angel will no longer be able to issue Armor Plates from his supply bag. Third, and perhaps best, the recoil of existing weapons has been reduced. Now, of course, after the decision on Breakthrough, these remain very small developments, but all the update content was like this.
According to a recent report, it seems to be only a matter of time before Battlefield 2042 joins Game Pass .
