The first PvP beta of Overwatch 2 ended on May 17. Blizzard compiled the data it collected, published a blog post and shared statistical information about the frequency of use of heroes, how often they win, and how effective the buff and nerfs are.
As you know, there is a hero who has just joined Overwatch 2: Sojourn. According to Blizzard’s data, he was a hero who was chosen by 80% of the time, especially at the beginning of the beta. Later in the beta, the frequency of use seems to be decreasing rapidly.
Among the characters that existed and were reworked in the first game, Orisa is the lead. He was followed by Doomfist, Bastion and Sombra.
The blog post contains very detailed information, especially about the frequency with which heroes win. They explained which heroes were buffed, which ones were nerved, how the frequency of their winning was tried to be balanced depending on the match conditions. This is a good example of how such data collected in the betas is used and what it does.
On June 16, new information about the game will be shared and we will learn how to participate in the next PvP beta.
