The number of players playing Blizzard games continues to decline monthly, with a decrease of around 29% in the last three years, according to the latest data shared by the company. Activision Blizzard announced blizzard;In 2021;
In the first quarter of 2018, blizzard games had 38 million active monthly players. So in three years, 11 million players have stopped playing Blizzard games. The biggest share of this must be World of Warcraft, which works with a monthly subscription.
Blizzard hasn’t come across a new game in a very long time (almost 5 years). Not to mention intermediate games like Warcraft 3 Reforged. The recent departure of big names from the studio (such as Overwatch;’s director Jeff Kaplan) doesn’t make things any better.
Mobil Diablo Immortal will be released this year, then there’s Diablo 2 Resurrected, and then we’ll start waiting for Diablo 4. Diablo 4 in particular is a game that, from what we have seen so far, can really meet expectations and even go beyond. The Diablos will surely increase the number of players, but that 11 million in between is also very difficult to close.
