Gearbox Entertainment has informed and confirmed through Axios Gaming that several high-end developers who have worked on Borderlands 3 have left the company to work together on a brand new independent project.
It has been confirmed that seven developers on Gearbox have left. They include Senior producer Christopher Brock, chief mission designer Keith Schuler, artistic director Scott Kester, creative director Paul Sage, UX/Game Feel director Chris Strasz and lead character artist Kevin Penrod.
Randy Pitchford, founder of Gearbox Entertainment, said developers leave “on the best terms.”
Pitchford said: “The leavers were part of the pre-production team and their departure will cause minimal disruption to our plans.” Pitchford added: “We’ve turned our main focus right now to [Tiny Tina’s] Wonderlands.”
