Project Cloud Games, a small indie studio of about 10 people, shared a boss video from its soulslike game Project Relic.
In fact, there is no UI element in the video that this is a boss, but since there are no UI elements on the screen anyway, I guess they made such a choice in the name of cinematicization of the video. Otherwise, if we’re going to kill a normal creature in the woods in two minutes, we’ve got work to do:)
Project Relic is a game scheduled for release in 2023. Seven months ago, they posted a gameplay video and got on a lot of people’s radar, including me.
But when you watch this video, it’s clear that they still have a long way to go. For one thing, the camera angle is a little uncomfortable, and although there’s no locking in the middle, the camera is stuck behind the character. The constant shaking of the screen (shake effect) is also slightly exaggerated, and in such action-packed parts, such effects are also uncomfortable for the eye when used too much.
And the music in the video is screaming, “I’m taken from Elden Ring,” so you have to be careful with that sort of thing.
