Now The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a new speedrun record. From link opening his eyes to the final credits, the game’s new finish time has dropped to 25 minutes and 23 seconds.
The game’s speedrun record had been set three months earlier to 25 minutes and 54 seconds, but no one has fallen below that record since. Until yesterday. The American player named Player_5 improved the record by 31 seconds to no.1. It’s normal to see the record improved by 1 or 2 seconds in this kind of speedrun, but a half-minute difference at once is really awesome. Based on his average on air, it looks like he’ll be able to get Player_5 down to 25 minutes.
This record, which is broken in the Any% category, can benefit from the various glitches in the game, so the only thing that matters is to be able to see the last credits of the game, it doesn’t matter how. For example, the reason he played the game in French was because there was a difference of about 4 seconds between him and English, and there are interesting details like that.
The Breath of the Wild record in the 100% category is 17 hours and 35 minutes, and the difference is, as you can see, tremendous 🙂
If you like to watch speedrun video, “how did they think of this?” I recommend watching the record video below.
