Modern Warzone, a Call Of Duty fan site, claimedearlier this month that the new Call Of Duty game would be called Vanguard – after which Eurogamerconfirmed the allegations from its own sources. The same “leak” article claims that the game’s time zone – again – will be drawn back into The Second World War.
Will Call Of Duty return to its “roots” with the second world war?
According to Modern Warzone, which transmits “leakage” information, Vanguard will be changed towards the game’s nickname and release. Eurogamer, however, said activision was not considering changing the name of the game, according to its own sources.
Eurogamer also, citing information they claim to have received from their own sources, states that Vanguard will be a flat, traditional World War II game, not an alternative time zone in which “the Second World War did not end in 1945”.
Call Of Duty has long been handled by different companies under Activision, with different time zones and themes. The game’s main timeline, Infinity Ward, continues the game’s main timeline, while Treyarch has fun with Black Ops. Now another gaming studio, Sledgehammer, looks set to return the COD brand to The Second World War.
