Activision Blizzard announced that call of duty mobile, a free-to-play action shooter game, has exceeded 650 million downloads and generated over $1 billion in earnings.
Activision Blizzard’s annual report states: “We remain strong on Mobile devices as well as console and PC platforms. We’ve had over 650 million downloads since the release of Call of Duty Mobile. In addition, we have generated over $1 billion annually through in-game spending.
Call of Duty Mobile continues to be downloaded and played worldwide. The number of Call of Duty players on mobile devices and the number of players on Console and PC platforms are almost the same (as of 2021).
This is not an easy feat, given the success of the free-to-play Warzone experience on console and PC. We are now looking to the future with more certainty. We are building a very large and talented team that can work on mobile games. This team will help take the Warzone and Call of Duty series to new heights”
