I don’t know about you, but I prefer modern technologies and weapons in FPS games. Apparently, most of the players agree with me because Activison thinks that’s why sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard are low. So it wasn’t the game, it was the Second World War that had a theme…
GamesIndustry.biz reports that the game’s annual sales are down 40 percent. So much so that news about Vanguard and general interest are said to be at their lowest levels in 10 years. However, it was also noted that the game was overshadowed by Black Ops Cold War in its first months on sale.
According to Activision, the problem is not in the Call of Duty series. The game, which arrived in 2021, “did not meet expectations,” the producer said, adding that the problem stemmed from the game’s theme, The Second World War. According to Activision, this theme doesn’t get a good return from the players.
As a Modern Warfare enthusiast, of course, I support this view. And what would you choose to theme the new Call of Duty games?
