Activision continues to fight against cheaters in 2021. Call of Duty Warzone, which has a ban wave almost every month, has again survived tens of thousands of cheaters. Raven Software confirmed that the number of bans today is more than 30,000.
Call of Duty Warzone ban wave continues
Activision, which periodically extracts cheaters, continues to operate at full speed. With previous waves, the company banned about 100,000 cheaters from the game in 2021. This equates to the number of users who receive Amnesia: Rebirth in 5 months. However, how much the community feels the impact in the game is debatable. Call of Duty Warzone attracts millions of players every day. A large part of this player base comes from the PC platform, where cheats are very easy to install and use.
Before today’s bans, feedback from players and Warzone publishers still indicates that cheats are a very common thing. As with other FPS games, your approach to cheaters varies depending on your skill. So a broadcaster who manages to download at least 8 people per game will be more sensitive to this issue than I am, who can’t hit anyone.
Another problem is that the cheater, not the cheater, is being removed. So by simply opening a new email and a new account, these cheaters can resume their cheap games. In September 2020, Infinity Ward – who was interested in the game at the time – promised to “try to deploy additional security updates and ensure security in the background.” A popular website that distributes cheats still shows its programs as “undetected.” Activision bans can be made based on the identity of any hardware of a machine, as in some FPS games. But there is cheating software that will replace this with fake hardware IDs.
And yet, word, we’ve run out of feathers in our tongues, but people aren’t tired of cheating. At this rate, Activision will continue to waste its time banning thousands of people every month. We hope that a player who is found to be cheating with a permanent solution will be prevented from entering the game again and the game experience will improve somewhat.
