Square Enix and Crystal Dynamicshave released a video for the 25th anniversary of the series, showing off the prototype version of Tomb Raider 2013. The video shows that the Tomb Raider ‘reboot’ series was originally designed as a survival horror game. The cancelled game, codenamed Ascension, also features many different mechanics.
Cancelled scary Tomb Raider game: Tomb Raider Ascension
In this shared prototype version; Lara can ride a horse and encounters many extraordinary enemies. Although the production, codenamed Ascension and originally a horror game, was canceled, the trilogy, which was conceived in its place, also encountered ‘some’ extraordinary enemies in it. Although extraordinary enemies have gained their place in the game, the game does not contain any elements of fear in itself.
As you’ll see in a moment, the shared prototype version isn’t very polished. The prototype, which only offers the planned structure of the game, does not represent the final version of the game in any way, but it seems quite interesting to fans of the series. You can take a detailed look at the shared video below.
