1993’s Super Street Fighter 2 added four new fighters to the game, one of which was Fei Long, inspired by Bruce Lee. However, due to legal problems with the Bruce Lee mansion, it was claimed that Fei Long would no longer take part in this famous fighting game series.
Indeed, Fei Long didn’t even appear in Street Fighter 5 as a DLC character. What’s more, he isn’t part of Street Fighter 6’s first leaked 22-man fighter roster.
Street Fighter 5 composer Daniel Lindholm has hinted that Fei Long’s absence from the series is because the Bruce Lee mansion says Bruce Lee-inspired works should be “reputable” and not caricatured. He later said he had no knowledge of the matter, and the official Bruce Lee Twitter account made it clear that he had no such thoughts.
Street Fighter 6 director Takayuki Nakayama made a statement that excited the players, saying that the aforementioned Bruce Lee mansion incident turned out not to be real: “I can’t say if Fei Long will come to the game, but there is absolutely no legal problem.”
This makes it very likely that Fei Long will come to Street Fighter 6 through character DLC.
