CD Projekt RED continues to experience a decline in value as a company after the open-world action adventure game Cyberpunk 2077. According to a new report by Business Insider Poland, CDPR has lost 75 percent of its value since launching Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020. CD Projekt RED is one of the most valuable gaming companies in Poland.
The game’s failed exit was immediately felt. Prior to the release of Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR’s shares were trading at around 400 zl (Polish zlotys) each. Just six days before the game’s release, that figure peaked at 443 zl. At the beginning of 2021, these shares halved and experienced another halving until March of this year.
CD Projekt Red lost five years of company value within 18 months of releasing Cyberpunk 2077. Even if the game manages to sell 14 million units, the loss of value continues.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a troubled debut. During this period, the multiplayer mode of the game was canceled. The promised experience in the game was not accepted by the players. The game was even removed from sale on PlayStation Store in 2020.
