CD Projekt said that five months after Sony removed Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store, they are still awaiting Sony’s approval to re-launch the game.
The firm’s management faced a question at their shareholder meeting yesterday about whether there had been any progress on the issue and when the talks would conclude. Although this is not normally on the agenda of the meeting, the company’s CEO Adam Kicinski chose to answer the question to address doubts.
“Unfortunately, I can’t give any new information about this. We are still in discussions, the game is getting better with every patch we publish, and these developments are also visible. But it’s ultimately a special decision sony has made, and we expect them to make the decision to buy the game back to PlayStation Store. Until then, I’m not in a position to say anything more about it.”
A similar question came up at the March meeting, when Michal Nowakowski, a cd project executive, said the decision was entirely in Sony’s hands. That means there’s been no improvement in cyberpunk 2077 in the intervening two months.
The fact that the game was removed from PlayStation Store also affected the game’s sales on other platforms. Therefore, they think that Sony’s decision to buy back the game will significantly increase sales.
