Celeste’s developer, leading to pixel graphics and platform challenges, we’re facing a sad news for Extremely OK Games. First announced in 2021 and reported that there are various problems, Earthblade is officially cancelled.
Studio will focus on smaller projects
The Earthblade announced four years ago was facing internal development problems in the first place. This mess has reached the peak with the latest IP rights subject. The project was cancelled due to the dispute between the creators of Celeste between IP rights.
The R&D director of the Studio Maddy Thorson was found in various descriptions about the project and said: “At the beginning of this year, cracks began to occur in the team. Especially this crack was among the art director and Celeste and TowerFall’s pixel/UI artist Pedro, I and Christmas (solid member). The basis of the problem was relevant to the property rights of Celeste. We’ve decided to take our way if we’ve delivered to the solution now. Thorson also said that the studio will continue to develop smaller projects after that.
The previous game of the studio Celeste was released for consoles and PC in January 2018. The award-winning platform game was created by Thorson and common developer Christmas Berry. Art studies were made by Brazilian studio MiniBosss.
