Chad Grenier, a founding member of Respawn, is leaving the studio after an eleven-year journey.
In a blog posted on the studio’s official website, Grenier said: “Here’s how I describe my 11 years at Respawn. After helping to build the studio together, we brought the Titanfall universe to life and brought an amazing experience called Apex Legends to the players. It was simply an unforgettable journey. But today this wonderful chapter is coming to an end.”
Steven Ferreira, who was mentioned as his “right-hand man” following Grenier’s departure, will take over as game director. Ferreira promised not to disappoint Apex fans.
Grenier’s departure coincides with the departure of design director Jason McCord. McCord: “It’s hard to leave a production and team you love. But it’s time to do something new.”
Today is my last day at @Respawn.
11 years, 11 seasons of Apex, 11 shipped maps. I thought that was neat.
It’s tough to leave a game and a team that you love.
But it’s time to do something new.No plans quite enough. Going to walk the Earth for a bit and recharge. Stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/qLKA2iXca9

In addition, McCord said they don’t have any plans yet and need some rest.
