The Dying Light 2 expansion pack can add some of the content removed from the game to the game one way or another. Speaking about “cut content”, one of the biggest concerns of players, its chief designer, Tymon Smektala, emphasized that content that is not added to the game is usually just pieces from the draft phase of the game that are not removed.
With the Dying Light 2 expansion pack, future content or regions can take a breeze from removed content
Tymon Smektala stated that it is many times easier to add new regions or content to the game than to overhaul content that is not added to the game;
” What some players don’t understand is that not all of the remnants of content they find in game files are content that has been discontinized. The vast majority are actually fragments from old prototypes that we forgot to clean from the files. “
In other words, Tymon stated that the models or names seen as the cut content are not really things to focus on;
” Adding these tracks back to the game and trying to extract content from them is much more laborious and expensive than adding something brand new to the game from the beginning. With the new expansion packs, of course, we’ll add new regions to the game, but these contents will be designed from scratch.”
Dying Light 2, which is scheduled to be supported for at least 5 years, is likely to see plenty of “cut content” from players during the development process.
