In our country, we are in the period where hardware products are sold almost 50% more expensive than a year ago. Naturally, the “frugality” drive of the pandemic prevents us from upgrading our computers, replacing our mouse that kicks switches, throwing away our drifting gamepad.
As expensive products become increasingly inaccessible – fortunately – we also encounter some entry-level products that do not require us to compromise on performance. The Corsair Qatar Pro XT is one of them.
Design
Now you still have to adjust the expectation correctly. What am I talking about? For example, the Qatar Pro XT is certainly not ambitious in terms of image, it has a classic, entry-level, minimalist design. If your hand is too big, yes, maybe it’s not the right product for you. I think everyone else will enjoy this very ergonomic mouse.
The rough structure at the top has improved the sense of grip, and the larger triangular patterned coatings on the sides make it easy to grasp this already quite light mouse. Although the plastic material is hard and lacks rubber supports, it leaves a very high quality feel, it certainly does not feel cheap. We’re going to talk about the price in a minute, the fact that it doesn’t feel like these technical specifications are cropped from something is definitely a plus point.
Properties
The mouse wheel is quite quiet and easy to turn, and the feeling is pleasant. The tire coating of the wheel, which at first felt like a “pumpkin tire”, does not cause any problems in use. The mouse wheel can be clicked and used as a scroll, but the right/left click is not available.
Although the Qatar Pro XT is symmetrical in structure, the fact that the additional keys are only on the left side is a detail that can be problematic for lefties. The main switches used in the mouse are not too noisy, there is no feeling of sponge, it crackles. The additional keys on the left side are extremely easy to reach, you can easily use them both with your thumb. These keys have a bit of a sponge feel, but they definitely don’t cause problems in use.
You can adjust the DPI from the key at the top of the mouse. Each time you press the key, the light next to the mouse wheel changes, reminding you of what setting you are in. Accordingly, red (800dpi), white (1500dpi), green (3000dpi) and sniper mode (400dpi) are predefined. Of course, you’re not bound by those values. You can fine-tune the Qatar Pro XT via iCUE, but let’s remember that you need to upgrade to version 3.37.140 for iCUE to recognize the mouse. From here you can adjust not only the sensitivity of the mouse, but also the single region RGB settings.
Technical
Now to the technical details. Qatar Pro XT certainly didn’t spare any expense on this side. The Pixart PMW3391 sensor used in the mouse is among the best, most performance sensors on the market. With a precision adjustment of up to 18000dpi, 400 IPS speeds and a 50 G acceleration value, this sensor performs great on almost any surface and every use.
The Qatar Pro XT is separated from its wireless brother in this area because Corsair used the PMW 3325 sensor in the wireless model. As it is known, it is a perfect sensor for wireless models with very low power consumption. And his performance is good enough.
Another issue is lightness. Although we’re used to honeycomb-designed mice, Corsair has opted for a more standard, more familiar design. Still, he managed to capture an extremely impressive mass of 73 grams. The mouse is so comfortable to use that you feel like you’re managing it with almost no power. That means less weight on your wrist during long gaming sessions.
Finally, Corsair chose a very long and braided cable in this model, which is definitely a step forward. He’s not standing in the way of an obstacle and you off at the most exciting part of the war, he’s doing just fine.
Result
The price of the Qatar XT Pro was 280 TL at the time of writing. This is indeed an affordable figure for the product with the highest performance at its own price level. Not only other brands, but Corsair’s products at this price level, Harpoon and M55, I wish patience, they now have a very competitive siblings.
What more can I say, I think I’m going to have to finish by writing down what’s on my mind. Of course, I’ve tested some amazing mice so far, but the Qatar XT Pro may be the most comfortable mouse I’ve ever used. I recommend it to those who collect new computers and are looking for a more performance mouse at an affordable price.
