The noble game of medieval strategy is coming soon to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. Paradox Interactive’s successful strategy and role-playing game Crusader Kings III will debut on consoles on March 29, 2022, giving an entirely new group of players the chance to build a legendary dynasty in this historic strategy game.
Crusader Kings III arrives on consoles in March
In partnership with Lab42’s game development team, Paradox has adapted crusader Kings III’s dynamic and ever-changing gaming structure to a new environment, lending the unique features of the console game structure. There are few games with such rich strategic options, including political marriages to connect with noble families, brutal battles to get so-called legal claims accepted, personal relationships to unite a divided administration, and even plans to weaken or eliminate opponents.
Crusader Kings III consoles have larger screens and an interface and control scheme tailored to console controllers. The all-new control map allows players to quickly and easily navigate the game’s menus through triggers and the serial movements of the analog stick. The console version also uses key features of Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, such as Haptic and Adaptive Trigger feedback, along with super-fast load times for a seamless gaming experience. Players will be able to switch between the game and other apps, such as YouTube, using the “Fast Resume” option, where they can apply for an educational knowledge of how to suppress a peasant rebellion.
PlayStation 5 users will experience the game’s stress mechanics as DualSense physically reacts to in-game events. The more stress occurs in a character, the more resistance will be applied to the adaptive trigger of the DualSense controller. PS5’s Events and Game Help also provides a platform to help new players take their first steps in the crusader kings world.
Crusader Kings III features:
- Character-Oriented Gameplay: Each character you play or interact with has its own personality. The events and options in the game are largely determined by the type of person you are.
- Endless Options: Play as any nobleman from Iceland to India, Finland to Central Africa for five centuries. Interact with guests, stubborn children, sneaky spies and important holy men who navigate the depths of medieval life.
- Wage War: Gather your slaves and show up to encircle enemy strongholds or quell rebellions. Your personal prowess on the battlefield can earn you great honor, but the path to victory is through strategic planning.
- Royal Marriages: Spread your dynasty DNA all over the world, press your royal seal at the top of kingdoms and duchys. Marry for power and raise children to claim new land.
