The CDPR was hit by a cyberattack in February this year, when hackers gained access to The Witcher 3, The Witcher 3 Next-Gen, Cyberpunk 2077 and Gwent source codes and CDPR’s internal correspondence and documents to steal them.
Of these, only gwent code was spread, and the hackers auctioned off other source codes. For those of you who don’t remember that part of the story, let me leave our previous storyhere – $7 million was sold for an undisclosed amount of source code with an immediate buy price of $7 million. The condition of the sale was that these codes would not be redistributed, but now whatever happened, the codes have torrented, again by the same hackers.
The text file accompanying the torrent appears to have asked for $10,000 for the password that would open the archive files of the source code. The archives “SDK PS4 / PS5 / Switch / XboxX” were unencrypted, which they probably put in to show that the content was real.
They also say that CDPR data, company reports and similar documents are shared with the press, and that they will not share them publicly.
Now, if someone really gave me this money, took the archive passwords, and then reposted them unencrypted, there’s really nothing these guys could do. Interesting work. And they ended their message by saying, “Wake up samurai, we have a city to burn.”
Following these news, a large number of feyk files may also fall into the middle, so I recommend not downloading every content you see.
