Cyberpunk 2077 chief game designer leaves company
“Almost 8 years later, my time at CDPR is over,” Zawadzki posted on Twitter. It’s time to embark on new adventures. Thank you so much to everyone I met on the road, it was an honor and a pleasure. See you later,” he wrote.
After almost 8 years, my time at CDPR has come to an end. It’s time for the new adventure.
To every person I’ve met on the way – thank you 🙂 It was an honor and pleasure.
See you around 🙂 pic.twitter.com/Hts3TE9VzW— Andrzej Zawadzki (@ZawAndy) March 22, 2021
Zawadzki joined CDPR as a Quality Assurance (QA) tester working on The Witcher 3 – Wild Hunt and his DLC Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. According to LinkedIn, he was later given the role of “Young Game Designer” in 2016 and began working on Cyberpunk 2077. Zawadzki, who played different roles throughout the development process, was last named “Senior Game Designer” in March 2020. Before that, he worked as an RPG Coordinator.
You may recall that when the game first came out, there was a flood of reactions at the company leading up to death threats. That’s when Andrzej Zawadzki told his followers that the threats were absolutely unacceptable and completely false. He was the one who responded to this situation in the most serious way from CD Projekt RED. He said, “We are human beings like you.” Now he hasn’t given a reason why he left the company, and we don’t have any details about the new company he’s going to work for. He’s just telling his friend Kyle Rowley he’s going on a long vacation.
Below the post announcing the separation, we also see farewell messages from former colleagues.
