Cyberpunk : Edgerunners, based on Netflix’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game, was shown on Day 3 of Geeked Week. Netflix described the series as “an independent, 10-part story about a street boy trying to survive in Night City, a city obsessed with technology and body modification of the future.” The original music of the series will be composed by Akira Yamaoka, known for the Silent Hill series.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be released in September 2022
According to the official trailer of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, which was announced in the past,it is planned to be released in September 2022. The series is produced by CD Projekt Red and executive produced by Rafal Jaki. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be 10 episodes long and will be an independent story set in the game’s Night City region. The animation is directed by Tokyo-based Studio Trigger and directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill la Kill).
The character designs will be done by Yoh Yoshinari. During the anime’s announcement, Imaishi said, “I’ve always loved cyberpunk as a genre. But I’ve always found it difficult to create it as an original work.” “I am very excited to be working with CD Projekt Red on this project. It won’t be easy to please both game and anime fans, but I like the challenge.”
