Cygames has announced that it has acquired all the rights to its Metal Max IP from Kadokawa Games.
Cygames has acquired all rights to Metal Max from Kadokawa Games. As a result, Cygames has acquired ownership of the Metal Max series and will take over all related projects from this stage onwards. In the future, no plans have been announced for the Metal Max series, but this series has a history of more than 30 years.
Hiroshi Miyaoka, the creator of the Metal Max series, will be a director at Cygames and will continue to work on the series.
Miyaoka said in a statement: “Cygames has acquired the rights to Metal Max. This acquisition is indeed a great opportunity for the Metal Max series, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. As the original creator, I want to take the series even further first.
As the director of Cygames, I want to seriously revamp and change the Metal Max series. We have crazy ideas right now.”
