As you know, the first detail trailer of Return to Monkey Island received mixed reactions. Some of the series ;tight; fans slammed the game’s new graphic style, even to the point of insulting Ron Gilbert, and as a result, Gilbert announced that he would no longer talk about the game.
If you are curious about the development of events up to this point in our news below, let us continue.
Dave Grossman, who co-developed Return to Monkey Island with Ron Gilbert, shared a short 10-second clip from the game on Twitter this morning. In this clip, we see Guybrush Threepwood crossing the famous dock of Melee Island.
“New security camera video for #MonkeyIslandMonday. A strange man was seen wandering around the Melee dock with a purpose, he passed the pelicans and the bar without caring, as if there was a place to be found, a puzzle to solve… @grumpygamer have you seen that?”
grumpygamer, aka Ron Gilbert, replied to this message by “maybe he’s looking for the location of the toilet” by saying, “SCUMM Bar’s toilet is only for customers, maybe it’s in the Voodoo shop… hurry up.”

From the governor election poster on the wall of the house to the Scumm Bar, to the ship docked, I am sure that every detail has attracted the attention of those who play the series. I finished the first game once again the other day, my plan is to play the entire series again before Return to Monkey Island comes out. When you play these games again, you once again understand very well why the golden age of the history of adventure games is that period.
