Dead Island 2 was first announced in 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There was a problematic development process with three studios working on the game. Following this process, journalist Colin Moriarty claimed via the Sacred Symbols podcast that Dead Island 2 would debut in September or October.
Moriarty added: “I brought this up on the show a few weeks ago. Dead Island 2 looks set to be back on the agenda this year. I heard from a source I trust that the game will be announced this summer and could be released in September or October.”
Meanwhile, Tom Henderson of the gaming industry has previously claimed that the development of Dead Island 2 is going well and will be released later this year.
Henderson also gave information about the beginning of the game: “You’re on a plane, and in the meantime, the zombie epidemic begins. Finally, the plane crashes in Hollywood. You’re surviving a plane crash, and it’s your job to survive.”
