Team Ninja’s Hiroaki Morita announced on Twitter that a small team was working on Dead or Alive 7 after the release of Dead or Alive 6. He also announced that minor updates are on the way for the sixth game in the fighting series.
Morita said the team working on Dead or Alive 7 disbanded just before the retiring of the series’ director, Yohei Shinbori. He said the game was ultimately canceled after the team disbanded.

Dead or Alive 6 debuted on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on March 1, 2019.
