Steam Next Fest 2022 started the other day and will continue until Monday evening. We mentioned that over 700 demos took place at this event. Of course, with the number so high, we don’t know which one to look at, which is natural. We still wanted to share what we had in between, we prepared a list for you. Apart from this list, there will be demos that you think should be tried, so I ask you to share them in the comments and I go to our list:
Children of Silentown
It was one of those games that I tried and liked in previous events. We also included him in our list of “10 Adventure Games We Expected in 2021”. He couldn’t make it last year; We’re hoping to play this year. I’m hopeful for this game, one of those productions that I think will be a nice point&click adventure game. With the demo, you have the opportunity to take a look at the introduction to the game; you get an idea of both its visual style (one of its most powerful aspects) and its gameplay and dark story. Who knows, maybe it’ll be on your watch lists:
Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef
If a million Warhammer games on the market don’t cut you, here’s 🙂 our new Warhammer game To understand how Shootas, Blood & Teef promises to play, it’s possible to cite guns, gore & cannoli from the developer team’s previous games. We go to the left and right of the screen and rain bullets like crazy on the enemies who flock to you. The Warhammer theme is so good, it’s a lot of fun for me. I say you take a look. It’s a demo you can complete in an average of 15 minutes, but once you get the taste you might want to play it over and over again 🙂
A Little to the Left
Unpacking was one of the games I liked last year. In the game, which proceeded without any dialogue, we were placing the items from the boxes in the room, kitchen, bathroom etc., just how impressive could it be? But when I was putting those things in, time went by, and I started all over again thinking that it would look better if I did it, and it was a game that I enjoyed playing (the story he told in the background was good, by the way). As soon as I saw A Little to the Left, it was inevitable that I would add it to my watch list. We fix a picture that’s crooked, we pick up toys scattered around, we clean labels off the fruit, we line up the keys or books. Every step of the way, another puzzle awaits us. Demos where you can take a quick look and get an idea.
Hazel Sky
From classic-style adventure games, Hazel Sky collects objects around, uses them in the right places, solves puzzles. This game is one of the games that has been waiting in the remote corners of our watch lists for a long time, since I have played demos in previous events. Maybe I remember wrong, but in previous demos it was ending in the part where we flew our plane (glider), this time there was a short scene. It’s a demo that can be finished in 5-10 minutes, but it gives us an idea of what kind of game awaits us. It can also be a good alternative to increase the number of demos you browse.
Little Orpheus
A few years ago, there was a game called Planet Alpha, and there’ll be some of you who remember. We were involved in the adventure of an astronaut who fell to an alien planet, exploring this interesting planet. It was a game I loved. Little Orpheus reminds me of Planet Alpha at first sight. Again in a foreign geography, we climb up, roll down, hop, jump, escape giant creatures. Of course, there are differences between the two games; In Little Orpheus, we’re not turning to the sky, we’re turning to the bottom of the earth’s crust. Then, while Planet Alpha tells a story without a single dialogue, there’s a counterproductive picture here. There also seems to be plenty of Soviet humor in the game. You can follow.
Espresso Tycoon
You know those third-generation coffee places that end up like mushrooms in every street, what’s missing from us, and we open one:) The name of the game already makes it clear what awaits us. It’s a game where we will open our own café and try to make coffees that will appeal to the tastes of various customers. The classic tycoon logic works here, too; First we deal with the decoration of our space, employ staff and then we open. As we make money, we buy new ingredients, do research, increase the alternatives we offer customers, and even develop our own coffee recipes.
Pharoah A New Era
Our old friend is preparing to meet us once again with his renewed face. So I said, “This is my chance, let’s see how it goes,” and I opened the demo. Pharoah, it seems to me to look like it’s the same way we left it. Don’t get me wrong; graphics, interface etc. have been updated, the game has become suitable for the present day; I mean, I didn’t mean it in a negative way. I mean, he’s managed to give it its old taste again, which is a good thing. It’s not one of the strategy games we’ve been waiting for this year for nothing:)
Builders of Egypt
It’s another strategy game we’ve been waiting for this year, and it’s taking us back to the Nile Valley. They are very similar to Pharoah, it can be said that it is a little more detailed than he is. Builders, meanwhile, looks like it’s going to be a trilogy; Two more games, Builders of China and Builders of Greece, will follow. Although there will be no big difference, only the geographies they cover change; It doesn’t remind me a little bit of caesar and pharoah. Is this a painting I’m going to complain about or not? After all, we have more strategy games to play, and after all, I’m fine with it, 🙂
How to Say Goodbye
How to Say Goodbye, a game on farewells. Our character, Sedlak, dies in a car accident. Then his brother Tomi comes to mind; “If I’m dead, I can see him one more time.” After a few episodes, he achieves this goal, meets his brother, and together, they try to get rid of the evil spirits who try to prevent themselves in between and reach the other world. The game offers puzzles based on a simple logic, moving the frames where the characters are located, bringing them to certain points, collecting certain objects and using them in the relevant places, finally opening the door that allows us to move to the next chapter. A game that can attract attention with colorful, attractive section designs; I say take a look.
Silt
Silt reminded me of Limbo at first sight, so I wanted to give it a try. Deep in the ocean, we’re trying to get out of the hands of all sorts of monsters, at least for now, that’s the story. Our character’s special ability is to transfer his soul to other beings and use their characteristics. So we’re trying to overcome the obstacles that come our way. For example, there are rope-like things in front of us that we can’t get over; we immediately become a rodent fish and slaughter it. There’s a wall, we go into the body of a hammerhead shark and we break the wall. There are places that raise the rhythm, for example, it’s fun to get rid of it when you’re chasing the muren fish. However, the game has some problems. The fact that preferences appear as “Option-Text” in the menu indicates that it is not ready yet. In addition, as if they did not take into account the use of keyboard-mouse, I recommend using a controller if you intend to play the demo.
Card Shark
We seem to be very interested in card games in recent years, don’t we, dear Gamers? We’ve seen some like Gwent coming out of The Witcher series, as well as the likes of Insycription, which could be considered one of the big surprises of the past year. Card Shark, on the other hand, is an adventure that focuses on card games, where we learn a thousand trick scraps and try to empty the pockets of our opponents. The drawing style is nice, and the music doesn’t sound bad to me. As a theme, he’s a 18th-century 19th-century 19 I think it’s a good move to take 19th-century France. I say add it to your watch lists.
TFM: The First Men
TFM has managed to become one of the demos that delights me. He’s been following me for a while, and I’m glad to see how much progress has been made. One source of joy is that this beautiful game is coming out of our country. In this strategy game where you build your civilization from scratch, instead of directly managing your characters, you give them tasks, define features, and make improvements in certain areas (there are areas in the game defined as color path) as you gain experience. On the one hand, you are growing your village and increasing your population. The variety of preferences presented in the game was pleasing; I’m looking forward to seeing more, I’m keeping a close eye on 🙂
Other than that, I’ve looked at a lot of demos. I’ve had some of them that I find unnecessary, which I can say isn’t bad. Let me briefly share a few of them:
I thought I’d try Vanaris Tactics; When I realized that the characters had evaporated in the first scene, that I couldn’t see the character I was going to attack or the people I was directing, I left immediately. I don’t think there’s much need to try games that make them feel like they’re at such an early stage.
Another demo I didn’t find what I expected was Trail of Ayash . The characters that went into the walls, the arrows that disappeared while using the bow, the arrows that disappeared when we started walking around the mountain, immediately drew a line in front of us and gave us a warning that “it’s not active here yet”, and “apparently they intended to make an open world but they didn’t open up much” and other mistakes made me think that “it’s too early to try.”
If you’re a fan of the text-based adventures of the past, you can also take a look at Vampire: The Masquerade – Sins of the Sires demo; I don’t know what you guys would think 🙂
