Destiny 2 is getting a long-awaited update. In your matches in the Crucible, you will now be matched with players of your level. This system, known as “skill-based matchmaking” or SBMM, will now appear in some selected Crucible games. With the 19th season, all modes are expected to work with SBMM.
The system, which will be added to Control mode, will be one of the most important updates of the upcoming 18th season on August 23. Bungie, who shelved this system, which previously worked only on a connection, says that they have switched to the SBMM system in order to maintain the balance in the matches. This will pave the way for more enjoyable PvP games.
Of course, due to this change, the waiting times will be extended a bit, but I don’t think the players will rebel against this situation. The Destiny 2 community has long waited for the system to change. In Bungie’s official statement, it is stated that with this system, it is aimed to have a low trailer difference between players in ninety percent of the matches.
