Veteran narrative designer Mary DeMarle joined BioWare to serve on the game Mass Effect 5. The award-winning Deus Ex writer, who previously served in Eidos Montreal, will now serve in Mass Effect’s new game. BioWare project director Michael Gamble received a round of praise from fans and the gaming industry for his announcement on Twitter.
Deus Ex writer will serve in the game Mass Effect 5
DeMarle is a highly successful name who revived the Deus Ex series. The award-winning author will now appear in Mass Effect 5, which is pretty good news for fans of the series. The advantages of the long time frame between the games of the series were once mentioned in Interactive Arts in Sciences:
“We were lucky to have ten years between Deus Ex games, because we all had good memories of the first games. But memories and facts don’t always match. So it was good to have a long break between games. We also had the great difficulty of being people who thought we were ‘not like them’.
What’s frustrating to me is that people want to understand everything immediately with simple answers. A lot of people only look at things from their own point of view and their own vision because that’s all they know. If we have the capacity to dig deeper and really look, we start to see things from other directions.”
While it’s too early to talk about Mass Effect 5, it’s good to know that it’s in reliable hands, at least in the direction of storytelling. You can also read the announcements made for the new Mass Effect and Dragon Age games in April by clicking here .
