Diablo 2 Resurrected will not support ultra-widescreen resolution for technical reasons as a remake of a 21-year-old game. Diablo 2 supported 21:9 resolution while alpha was in the process of being reduced to 19:9 during diablo 2: Resurrected open beta. Blizzard said the ideal rate was 16:9, and the mobs outside the area could not be filmed, but could still be killed.
Ideal resolution for Diablo 2 Resurrected 16:9
Blizzard said in a statement posted on the Diablo forums that the problems caused by the 21:9 screen resolution became more obvious during the technical alpha. Blizzard said in the statement:
” To illustrate this problem, AI 21:9 screen resolution cannot detect the player or give the attack command. In addition, players with a 21:9 monitor were able to draw many times more than the number of enemies that could be fought in the original game. “
Blizzard continued his explanation of the resolution through classes that can attack from a distance:
” In a scenario using ranged classes, players with a 21:9 monitor could attack enemies from a very distance and kill mobs. But the mobs couldn’t react and they died before they could respond. After all, AI can’t react to the extra distance provided by the 21:9 screen resolution.”
Blizzard said the 7:90 p.m. resolution is the final limit for Diablo 2 Resurrected. Players who want to play the game on the ultra-widescreen screen will have to ignore the black spaces that will remain on the edges of the screen.
Diablo 2 Resurrected will be released on September 23, 2021.
