Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4, announced in 2022, will be delayed, according to Activision-Blizzard’s third-quarter financial report. We recently learned that the new Diablo 4 executive producer is Joe Shely, and there have also been significant changes to the company’s Overwatch teams. Blizzard has postponed the two games until 2023 to be ready to go, Wowheadreported.
Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 may be delayed until 2023
Blizzard’s Chief Financial Officer Armin Zerza said in the report:
” In order to provide Diablo and Overwatch players with the quality games they deserve, we’ve decided to give our Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 teams extra time to develop games. That’s why we’re not going to add these two votes to our fiscal plans for 2022. While this development will affect our company’s financial statement next year, we believe this decision is the right decision for our players, the long-term health of the series and our shareholders.”
Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra addressed this issue at the end of the report and stated that the decision will help them grow the Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 teams and get regular and quick updates after the games are released.
