Diablo II Resurrected technical alpha process begins
Blizzard Entertainment announced today that the single-player technical alpha process for the Diablo II Resurrected PC edition will begin at 17:00 GMT on Friday, April 9. Gamers will be following the Dark Adventurer’s footsteps this time in stunning HD resolution.
Diablo lovers will be randomly selected from a limited number of players who have registered with Technical Alpha so far, and will have the chance to participate in the alpha process in the coming days. Similarly, a limited number of media members and creators will have the opportunity to enter the game the day before, thursday, April 8th. Technical Alpha will end at 20:00 GMT on Monday 12 April.
Players who qualify for the Technical Alpha will be able to select one of 3 different classes and play the first two Chapters of the game (Act) from start to finish. Fight in the holy Monastery and face Andariel, the Daughter of The Suffering, to avenge the rogues with the armed melee master, the ruthless Barbarian, the agile and fast Amazonian, or the Sorceress, the master of the enchantments. Then head east to the mysterious east and cross the deserts of Lot Gholein to deal with Duriel, the Lord of The Torment. There is no upper-level limit along the Alpha, so all participants will be ableto continue to strengthen their characters as they wish until the end of The Technical Alpha.
Diablo II Resurrected comes with gorgeous 4K resolution updated visuals and full physics-based 3D image support, as well as re-Mastered Dolby Surround 7.1 audio. While all elements of the game are still in development throughout The Technical Alpha, Blizzard stresses that they look forward to any feedback from players. Some of the features to be tested in this process include automatic gold collection, shared chests between characters and support for controls.
Although this test focuses on diablo II Resurrected’s single player experience only, developers say they are aware that multiplayer Diablo II is one of the game’s most important features, and will conduct a further test for the multiplayer experience in the coming months.
