One of the most important studios under EA;s wing is DICE. The developer, who has been living with the Battlefield series for a long time, is known for the FPS games he produces. Apart from Battlefield, the studio, which has signed classic names such as Star Wars: Battlefront, will say goodbye to the classic series that we have loved but have not heard from for a long time.
The most heartbreaking development in this farewell statement was of course the Mirror;s Edge. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, DICE executive Rebecka Coutaz explained that projects such as Mirror;s Edge are now in the second place. Stating that they are focused on Battlefield 2042, the manager stated that they cannot allocate time or resources for any project for now.
The studio, which has been under the wing of Electronic Arts since 2006, has also signed works such as Medal of Honor. However, the developer’s current goal will be to bring Battlefield 2042 to the level they want within 3 years. In the meantime, BF 2042 has experienced a serious decline in the number of players. FPS, which hosted 100,000 simultaneous players in the first days, could only reach 11,000 players on Steam in the last 24 hours.
