The clearing that there will be no sequel to Days Gone has led Jeff Ross and his team to look for other. One of the alternatives they discussed was to make a game for the Uncharted series.
Days Gone director Jeff Ross; In an interview with Sacred Symbols+, he says that when Sony did not approve a sequel, sony began to think about developing a game for other IPs, and one of these brands was Uncharted.
Ross said: “I’m not “Victor Sullivan is 25 years old… According to the calculations about his age, we are around 1976. He deserted the Navy for some reason. I look at the world through his eyes: I’m trying to find my own way. I’ve been trying to be a soldier, but when I didn’t succeed, I found myself on the streets, and now I’m taking it one step at a time to become a con man.”
Young Victor Sullivan, in his view, was a character like Sean Connery, who gave life to James Bond at the time, Ross said. He added that he was also impressed by the way the ’70s were handled in films like Joker and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Ross also says there are some challenges they face in developing the concept. The concept they’re developing is one that won’t allow players to engage too much. As such, he said, it was possible that what emerged was “the first Uncharted game where players didn’t shoot anyone” and he didn’t want to do it:)
What’s interesting about paper is that, as Ross points out, it’s an idea that also has some risks. Who knows if it will be implemented in the coming period?
