One of the reasons we still remember 1996’s Space Jam well was because of the film’s director, Joe Pytka. But Pytka expressed his displeasure in an interview with TMZ, making venomous statements about his new filmSpace Jam: A New Legacy.
The director says he went on screen five times to watch the entire film, which lasted about 2 hours. Pytka, who underlined in the first film that Michael Jordan was a world star, said that although LeBron James was a great athlete, he was not “a Michael Jordan.” Apparently, even with this explanation, he’s the former director who’s going to get the reaction of NBA fans.
But Pytka’s criticisms don’t stop there. The director emphasized that the cast is much stronger than the current film and was not satisfied with the soundtrack of the film. But the former director’s biggest criticism goes to the “new version” of Bugs Bunny. Pytka, who calls the new Bugs Bunny “a plush toy you can pick up at the airport,” was also disappointed with the character’s role in the film.
