Dragon Age 4 chief designer Matthew Goldman has left the firm. Goldman’s departure, which worked at Bioware for 23 years, was also citing an email from boss Gary Mckay to employees. The message stated:
“Hello everyone, I hope you’re all right. I’m writing this message to inform you that Matt Goldman is leaving Bioware. We agreed to part ways in a civilized manner and today is his last day at the firm.”

Mckay’s message continued:
“We know that Matt’s departure will affect you and the development of Dragon Age 4. However, we want you to make sure that there is no deviation from our goal of making a quality Dragon Age game and that we will not release a game that does not meet Bioware standards.”
Goldman’s reason for leaving the firm has not been disclosed, but it is said to have left Dragon Age 4 behind in a “spectacular” state. In 1998, Goldman joined Bioware and was part of the art teams of Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Dragon Age.
In 2017, he took over the role of Creative Director from Mike Laidlaw. The company’s recently disappointing Anthem director also left Bioware after 10 years.
