Publisher Electronic Arts and developer DICE released first-person shooter Battlefield 2042 on November 19. Halo Infinite’s story mode was released in December. Following the release of story mode, developer 343 Industries surprisingly introduced Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer mode to gamers on November 15 to celebrate xbox’s 20th anniversary.
Laura Miele, EA’s chief operating officer, said at a meeting (reported by Tom Henderson via Xfire) that one of the reasons for battlefield 2042’s poor release was the surprise release of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode.
Miele continued: “There were no issues with the release of Battlefield 2042 and the first day patches. The critical criticisms that came in the early period were also very good.”
According to Miele, the recent release of the two games led to comparisons. Comparisons in the process were not very positive for Battlefield 2042. Because Battlefield 2042 contained many bugs. Halo Infinite had a better debut than 2042.
