EA was allegedly working on a multiplayer online game based on the Harry Potter series. EA was developing an MMO-type Harry Potter game, original Gamer Life’s CMO Kim Salzer reported. However, the EA decided to cancel, thinking it would not hold.
As Salzer claimed, EA didn’t think the franchise was long-lasting. Therefore, he decided to cancel the game, even though it was in beta.
Salzer said the development team did a lot of research, and when EA canceled the game, there was a beta version. This Harry Potter game would be a combination of an offline and online experience.

Warner Bros, meanwhile, is currently working on a new game based on the Harry Potter franchise. In this production called Hogwarts Legacy, players will experience a new story set at Hogwarts in the 1800s. Warner Bros plans to launch Hogwarts Legacy in 2022.
