Ebba Ljungerud, CEO of Paradox Interactive, announced his resignation in a statement yesterday. The reason for the withdrawal appears to be “differences of opinion regarding the company’s plans and strategy for the future.” We don’t know what issues or what differences there were, but it’s clear that this is enough to lead to the CEO’s resignation.
Chairman Håkan Sjunnesson said in a statement, “Ebba has done a very good job as CEO of Paradox Interactive. Under his leadership, we can say that significant improvements have been made in the organizational structure, player community and game projects, thus laying an important foundation for the company’s future growth trend. We are of course saddened by the decision to step down, and we wish him success in his future endeavors.”
Ljungerud has been replaced by Fredrik Wester, who had already taken over from him in 2018 (at the time, Wester had resigned from his post). What kind of vicious circle is this :))
Although a lot has been going well for Paradox Interactive in recent years, there are also some recent difficulties. The most important example of this must be Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. It’s hard to establish a direct relevance to this change of management, but it’s clear that the company’s woes have reached significant levels. Let’s see if this change can help the waters settle, overcome the problems.
