Embracer Group, a Swedish video game company based in Karlstad, continues to grow. The company, which recently acquired Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal studios from Square Enix, has added new teams. In this context, it purchased 8 more studios. These studios include Bitwave Games, Gioteck, Limited Run Games, Middle-earth Enterprises, Singtrix, Tatsujin, Tripwire Interactive, and Tuxedo Labs, and a new team called Embracer Freemode.
Embracer Freemode is a newly formed group. This group will turn to retro and classic games, as well as new devices, hardware and e-commerce, and more.
Bitwave, with the support of Freemode, will expand its development team and form a publishing team. In this context, it will first publish the Gimmick game.

Middle-earth Enterprises, formerly known as Tolkien Enterprises, was a division of the Saul Zaentz Company based in California/Berkeley. Now the rights have passed to Embracer Group. The company owns the rights to certain elements of J. R. R. Tolkien’s two famous works, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Singtrix will enable the Embracer Group to move towards a wide range of new music games. Tatzajin is the studio of iconic arcade games known for games like Truxton, Snow Bros., and Flying Shark. It is directed by Masahiro Yuge.
Tuxedo Labs is best known for its demolition-based PC game Teardown. Most recently, he’s known for Tripwire Interactive, Killing Floor, Rising Storm, Maneater, and more.
