Esports trainings given by Bahçeşehir University (BAU) with a separate topic every year are given this year by Nesligül Deniz Kolaşinli, Director of Global Education at Learn2Esports, a Swedish esports education company.
Interest in the esports ecosystem, which is growing every year, continues to increase day by day. Especially in the field of esports, where young people are formed, it becomes just as important for young people to make informed decisions and to be guided. At Bahçeşehir University, where trainings are given with different course titles in the field of esports every year, courses started to be given as of spring semester. The main title of the courses, which will be opened for the 5th time this year, was ‘Esports Culture’. The courses were started by Nesligül Deniz Kolaşinli, director of education at Learn2Esports Global, which is working to support the esports culture and education of students in Sweden and EU countries established in 2016.
The esports area, where budgets are quite large with global interest, is now seen as a giant industry with international operations, far beyond being perceived as just a game. Acting with this understanding, Bahçeşehir University aims to close the education gap of the ecosystem by continuing its trainings for the examination and correct understanding of esports at the undergraduate level. Students with player potential are also guided in the most accurate way with courses where students who want to pursue a career in esports are trained. The courses offered to BAU students who want to take part in the esports world are given online by Nesligül Deniz Kolaşinli, one of the most experienced names in the sector.
Noting the presence of a large young population interested in digital gaming and esports in Turkey, Nesligül Deniz Kolaşinli said: “It is only possible to direct this intense interest to the right place, but with the robust equipment to make informed decisions. Examining and understanding esports, which has become a global phenomenon, especially at the undergraduate level, will break down the negative perception of gaming, to see esports as a giant industry with international operations rather than just playing a game well, to be able to analyze the activities that take place behind it correctly and to direct it to careers in this field. With this course, our goal is to induct curiosity and direct curiosity correctly in order to unlock the great game and player potential we have.”
On the other hand, the ‘GEP0312 Special Titles in Esports’ course opened every Spring semester at the university; In the Spring 2017-2018 period, Riot Games was held with Turkey in spring 2018/2019 with supermassive esports team and in spring 2019/2020 with Gaming in Turkey gaming and esports agency was carried out both theoretically and practically.
