While Techland is expected to delight players with its Dying Light 2 DLC packs, unfortunately, this expectation has been postponed until later this year. Dying Light 2, which sold more than 5 million copies in February alone, will receive its first additional package delayed. We all know that normally the developer is appreciated for his DLC support for the first game of the series, leading to increased interest in the game. Techland had already announced that it had some very good DLC plans for the production, right after the game’s release.
The production company announced via Twitter that the DLC, expected in June, has been postponed until later in the year. Techland said it has always been “transparent and honest” with players, adding that the additional package will unfortunately not arrive within the intended date. He explained that “we still need a little more time” as the reason for the delay.
Apology for Dying Light 2 DLC delay
In fact, this delay is not a very long time, so an additional package can be expected in a maximum of 2-3 months after June, but now players definitely want to see DLC in main story mode. Techland apologized for the delay and asked players to look forward to the additional package and updates, which are expected to arrive in September.
Ok DLC has been postponed but the developer never forgets to please the players and plans to offer a variety of content in June and August. They will present episodes in the game that are similar to the seasons. In fact, the first episode is called “In the Footsteps of a Nightrunner.” This section will include features such as photo mode, new community events, additional missions, new enemies, rewards, and the expansion of the rank system.
While the delay in DLC release in story mode for Dying Light 2 is disappointing, it’s clear that the Developer will do more than keep its promise to give the game a strong post-launch boost.
Five-year support plan for Dying Light 2
Even if it’s delayed by the first DLC, the future of the game looks pretty bright. Episode 2 will come in September, November, at the same time as the DLC. Innovations aren’t just about that, there are additional story DLC’ and free and premium DLC. Techland seems to be retaining the idea of five years of support for the post-launch game.
Dying Light 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S and is scheduled to arrive on the Switch later this year.
