Nightfall, one of dark souls’ biggest fan productions to date, has pushed its release date by a month and its new release has been announced as January 21, 2022. It was announced mid-year that the game would be released on December 21, but they made the decision to polish the game a little more.
Team Nightfall also released a trailer with the announcement of the exact release date:
Dark Souls: Nightfall is a direct sequel to Dark Souls and features a brand new story, a new world map, and new enemies. Since the game will not be connected to official servers, there is no way you will be banned in any way, which I would like to add to this detail for those who are perhaps skeptical about this.
You’ll need to own Dark Souls: Remastered to play Dark Souls: Nightfall. For a Nightfall-wide mode, it was necessary to use remaster’s specifications, so it was not possible to port this game to Prepare to Die Edition.
I’m looking forward to this mode, and now that we’re back in Dark Souls 2, it’s going to be great to play Nightfall before Elden Ring.
