We can easily say that Final Fantasy XIV is the most successful MMORPG game at the moment. This title, which formerly belonged to World of Warcraft, has changed hands due to WoW;s serious declines and stillness in recent years. I haven’t seen anyone who is involved with FF XIV and not satisfied, so I think this argument is true.
Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida is probably also extremely pleased with this interest, but he still dreams of making a new MMORPG from scratch.
“I’m a game designer, so I always have various ideas for games in mind. I can’t talk about them here, but I think that’s the case for all game designers. I’m one of those people who is happy as long as he can make a game, so even though there’s nothing obvious yet, I want to make another MMORPG game from scratch before I die,” Yoshida says.
Of course, we have many, many years ahead of us for this new game of Yoshida. The 2010 release of Final Fantasy XIV was a failure, but Yoshida’s efforts led to the rise from the game ashes in 2013 as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Yoshida said of Final Fantasy XIV, “I want it to last for decades,” and he’s the most profitable game in the Final Fantasy series; So it’s unlikely that Yoshida will be given the green light for a different game before another decade has passed.
