Comic book adaptations are now an unchangeable part of the TV/film industry. Sandman, one of the most iconic series in comic book history, is also set to move to the screen. The first season of the series, which will be watched under the umbrella of Netflix under the leadership of grandmaster Neil Gaiman, has been completed. Neil Gaiman broke the good news again. However, there is no clear date yet on the show’s release date, with Netflix expecting a trailer and release date as soon as possible.
“We’ve finished filming season one and now we have to be patient. During this time, visual effects and other work will be done. The music has been written and the recordings are complete. I don’t know a release date yet or when the trailer will be released.” Gaiman responded to fans via his Tumblr account. Speaking about the show’s development, the grandmaster said the resulting work felt like Sandman. Gaiman, who also said that Tom Sturridge(pictured) will make a big debut after the show’s first season, has just been able to steal a piece of honey from us for now.
Undoubtedly the most exciting thing about this series is the realization of the project that Neil Gaiman imagined directly. Because in most comic book adaptations, we had disconnects and frustrations because the creators of the work were remotely involved in the subject. A Sandman story set in modern times is already interesting enough, and with Gaiman involved, we have better reasons to wait for the show.
