Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of Final Fantasy 14, also spoke about another game he produced, Final Fantasy 16. Based on what Yoshida said, there’s no way we’re going to see the game at the Tokyo Game Show in September/October.
Final Fantasy 16’s development process is progressing smoothly at a smooth pace. The script is almost entirely written and recordings of English voiceovers have already begun. The reason we won’t be seeing the game on the Tokyo Game Show is because we’re not going to be able to divulge too much information until both the quest for perfection and Final Fanta 16 are fully ready to be broadcast.
Yoshida says that in their next announcement about the game, they will explain the combat system and some things they have not mentioned for now, but this will be made shortly before the game’s release date.
Final Fantasy 16 will be released primarily for PlayStation 5, but will also come to PC afterwards. In the original announcement of the game, the PC and PS5 versions were announced together, and then this description was changed to announce that the game would be exclusive on PS5.
