Digital Foundry is one of the sites that does its job best, especially giving extremely valuable information about the performance of emerging games and publishing interesting video and text analysis. The site’s assessment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was also highly anticipated by the players, but it looks like it’s going to be a little late.
Alex Battaglia tweeted on the day of the game’s release, “I’m not going to write FFVIIR, but the stutters you encounter instantly in rendered graphics are absolutely unacceptable. Anyone who tested and played this game before it was released on PC should have known that your cinematic game should not have done this.”
John Linneman, another Digital Foundry employee, confirmed these reports, adding that “this is a game with a flawless presentation at the heart of storytelling, and this version spoils it.”
A video of these issues will be released later this week, but Alex Battaglia also spoke to resetera;d, saying, “My humble opinion is that no one buys this game. This is the worst AAA game I’ve seen on PC in a long time.” Alex uses the RTX3090 and 10900k system he uses to make videos, and these stutters are even happening at 1080p.
The game’s release on PC with a sticker of $70/€80 has already drawn a backlash, with Square Enix becoming the first major publisher to start using this price level on the PC platform. Our sales price is 699 TL.
