We’ve been waiting a long time for the Marvel Cinematic Universemovie Black Widow, which is as black as its title. The MCU, which shifted all stage four plans due to the pandemic, was most affected by Black Widow. The film, which will be released on Disney+ at the same time as cinemas on July 7, was previewed and its first reviews were shared.
Initial comments from Black Widow are mostly positive. The film’s opening Rotten Tomatoes score is 85%. The comments of the lucky critics who watched the film early are as follows:
Jamie Jirak (Comicbook): Black Widow is also available for purchase on Disney+, but if you’re lucky, go and watch it on the big screen. It’ll definitely be worth it. The film provides a great opportunity for a moviegoer to return to theaters. The GENERAL fans of the MCU shouldn’t miss it either. I can tell you that Black Widow should have been made ten years ago. This new film still adds a lot of value to the brand and gives Scarlett Johansson/Natasha Romanoff a perfect farewell.
Owen Gleiberman (Variety): People who go to see Black Widow are wondering what they can see more than the main character. Scarlett Johansson’s MCU background dates back to Iron Man 2. We’ve watched a great fighter since then. He had his signature knife movements and costume. I wonder, or maybe I was afraid, that black widow is only made up of these when she’s two hours tall? Fortunately, that wasn’t the case, the film was much more engaging and inclusive.
Nicole Clark (IGN): The film was simply passionate. It’s a superhero movie, but it’s also an agent-themed action/thriller, a dysfunctional family drama and a story of harassment. Most of the movies don’t feel like a Marvel movie. Thanks to the dark tone used, you can understand a Russian program that kidnaps young girls and raises them as hit men. There’s nothing big about Natasha giving her powers. No radioactive spider bites, no gamma bombs. But despite all this, Natasha manages to get into Shield. Thanks to the film, we can also understand why Natasha was involved in them in the first place. We also see why Natasha is on the path to heroism and what she’s done beyond escaping her past. At the end of the day, we experience the intense tragedy of one of Marvel’s original Avengers members.
David Rooney (THR): Directed by Cate Shortland, the film has excitement, a whimsy and understandable sensuality. This solo film features Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff; and gives her a world-class boost from Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour. We enter a high-tempo mystery/thriller zone from the superhero temple. The film is a much better female-centric MCU film than Captain Marvel.
Clarisse Loughrey (The Independent): Despite black widow’s flaws, the truth made in the film builds a more hopeful future for the women in the MCU’s future. The story in the film contains experiences that are not only evocative, but also sympathetic. It’s a real shame Natasha didn’t have it from the beginning.
Comments from the film specifically indicate that the MCU should devote more space to female characters. Ms..With Marvel’s entry into the universe and the growth of Captain Marvel, these requests will be answered in the future. What pleases me most from the first reviews is that the film has adopted an agent action/thriller style. Apart from the classic Marvel formula, we can watch a darker themed movie. We’ll take a look at what it is and what it isn’t after the movie comes out. Natasha’s final journey, at least for now, seems to be pretty emotional for all of us.
