Casey Hudson was one of BioWare’s most important figures over the years, directing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic after working on such plays as MDK 2, Baldur;s Gate II: Shadows of Amn, Neverwinter Nights. Then he reached the pinnacle of his career and we saw him in the director’s chair of the Mass Effect trilogy.

In 2014, he left BioWare to move to Microsoft, where he returned to the studio in 2017 to become general manager. In late 2020, Hudson left BioWare once again and founded his own studio, Humanoid Studios, in mid-2021. And now we know a little bit about Humanoid Studios’ first play:

A multi-platform AAA game set in a brand new sci-fi universe that focuses on character-driven storytelling.

This game does not have a name yet, but both the brief description above and several concept drawings have been shared.

Even with these images alone, it’s possible to get a slight Mass Effect vibe. Casey Hudson is one of the most experienced names in the industry, so I think this new game should excite genre lovers already.
