Ted Peterson and Julian LeFay, chief developers of the original Elder Scrolls, Arena and Daggerfall, announced their first game as OnceLost Games, which they founded in 2019. The Wayward Realms will be a one-man fantasy RYO set in the open world. Especially for those who love the Elder Scrolls series, it looks like it will be a game that should be followed instantly.
According to the game’s Steam page, The Wayward Realms will be set collectively in an area of over 100 islands called Archipelago, where numerous factions are struggling to gain power. “Kingdoms will try to maintain their dominance, new factions will seek a place at the top, and dynasties will mobilize plans that will last for generations. If players can rise to an influential position, they will be able to change the course of history.”
In the game we will fight “opponents, mercenaries, monsters, spirits and demons”, you will understand the fantastic environments.
Perhaps one of the most remarkable phrases on the page is about the size of the game: “The Wayward Realms will be bigger than most other games you can think of. Giant cities, deep, dark and dangerous environments, huge mountainous terrain, marshes, vast oceans and more will be implemented dynamically, procedurally,” they say.
It is not yet clear when such an ambitious game will be available.
